With the engine or gearbox code you will find the exact matching engine or gearbox in seconds. Here is where to find it for the most common brands:
VW · Audi · Seat · Škoda
Engine: The engine code letters (e.g. CFFB, DTS) are on the data sticker in the service booklet or in the spare-wheel well — and stamped into the engine block.
Gearbox: The gearbox code letters (e.g. LHD, KXV) are on the same data sticker — and stamped into the gearbox housing.
Mercedes-Benz
Engine: The engine number (e.g. 651.921) is stamped into the engine block. The series (OM651, M274) is formed by the first three digits.
Gearbox: The gearbox number (e.g. 722.906) is on the type plate on the gearbox housing.
BMW · Mini
Engine: The engine code (e.g. B48B20B, N18B16A) is stamped into the engine block, usually at the front left below the cylinder head.
Gearbox: The gearbox code (e.g. GA8HP50Z, GS6-53DZ) is on the type plate on the gearbox housing.
